「与えられたとせよ」というマルセル・デュシャンの言葉が、モダニズムのアートへ打ち込まれた最初のくさびであったとして、過剰に与えられすぎた我々にはむしろ喪失感こそがリアルな感覚です。そして震災／原発事故後それは決定的なものとなりました。
我々は何を得、何を失ったのか、すべてが無効化する荒野を生きる我々は、そこから何を獲得しようとするのか。

Assuming that Marcel Duchamp’s Étant donnés(1966) was a first wedge denoted to the Modernism, the sense of loss is rather realistic to us living in abundance of supply. This sense became crucial after the earthquake/nuclear disasters in Japan.
What have we gained? What we lost? What should we get from now, the wildness that disable all?

ノイズ 、オルタナティブ・ミュージックの分野では「 暴力温泉芸者」「Hair Stylistics」名義で世界にその名を知らぬ者はいないカリスマ。また文学界においては、三島由紀夫賞、野間文芸新人賞、ドゥマゴ文 学賞を受賞、さらに映画批評など、多才を極める、生まれながらにして表現者=中原昌也。
スプラウト・キュレーションでは、ときに「異端」として賛否を二分する、この特異なアーティストの個展を開催いたします。
ボールペンやインクなど身近な画材を使い、コラージュを組み合わせる手法で制作される数々の絵画作品は、何も参照せず、中原自身に内在する世界が半ばオートマティックに描き広げられ、独自の絵画空間を作り上げています。世界の裂け目から湧き出たようなグロテスクなイメージとは対照的に、その筆致には迷いが無く、明確な構図は凛然と画面に構え、ヴィジュアル・アーティストとしての中原のプレゼンスの高さを示していると言えるでしょう。
本展では、このほど発売される著作『悲惨すぎる家なき子の死』のために書き下ろされた新作に加え、Hair StylisticsのCDジャケットの原画などを併せてを発表いたします。
Masaya Nakahara has been known as “Violent Onsen Geisha” and now “Hair Stylistics” (Japanese charismatic noise musician) as well as a writer who received Yukio Mishima Prize, Noma Literary New Face Prize and Parix des Deux Magots Bunkamura. SPROUT Curation is pleased to announce of the solo show by this extremely multi-talented artist, bisecting the pros and cons as a “heresy”.
Using the tools familiar such as ink or ballpoint pen in the method of combining with the collage, Nakahara creates his own pictorial space as his inner space is painted almost automatically without reference to anything. In contrast to grotesque image as if springs from the rifts of the world, there is no hesitation in its brushwork and the definite composition indicates his remarkable presence as a visual artist.
In this exhibition, in addition to the original art works for Hair Stylistics’ CD, we presents new works made for his book to be released recently will be exhibited.
